Grade 1 to Grade 5
At Olive Children, our Grades 1–5 program provides a supportive, engaging environment where children can continue to grow academically, socially, and emotionally beyond the school day. We offer a balanced afterschool experience that honors children’s curiosity while providing structure, routine, and meaningful guidance.
Children have time to unwind, connect with peers, and complete homework with support from caring educators. Our program also includes hands-on projects, creative activities, and opportunities for collaboration that help children build confidence, responsibility, and problem-solving skills.
We believe learning does not stop when the school day ends. Through thoughtfully designed activities and a nurturing community, children are encouraged to explore their interests, develop independence, and grow into confident, capable learners.
Grade 1 - 5
We believe that elementary students are fully capable of taking initiative in their own education. Our Grades 1–5 program is intentionally structured to transition students from guided learning to personal accountability.
By encouraging children to take responsibility for their goals, structure their own study time, and proactively utilize available resources, we help them build a foundation of self-discipline. Viewed through this long-term lens, our program does more than just help with today’s homework it equips students with the independence and confidence they need to thrive in middle school and beyond.

Common Core Prep
Our curriculum is meticulously aligned with California Common Core Standards.
We provide targeted practice in Mathematics, English Language Arts, and Reading Comprehension to ensure students remain ahead of grade-level expectations and build a strong academic foundation.
Homework Supervision
We provide a focused environment where staff actively assist with and correct daily assignments. Our educators ensure accuracy and understanding, with 1-on-1 tutoring available as time permits to address specific learning gaps and reinforce classroom concepts.
Advanced Computer Lab
Equipped with over 50 Chromebooks, our dedicated computer lab allows students
to bridge the gap between technology and education. Students utilize these resources for school projects, academic research, and developing essential digital literacy skills.
Additional Enrichment
Learning continues even after homework is done. Students gain access to a curated library of physical learning materials and premium web-based learning platforms, allowing them to explore new subjects and advance their skills at their own pace.
Chinese Language Studies
Bilingualism is a powerful tool for cognitive development. Research shows that bilingual children often outperform their peers in reasoning and critical thinking. To foster these skills, we provide weekly Chinese classes designed to build fluency and global awareness.
STEM & Coding
We prepare students for the future through weekly Hands-on Science and Coding sessions. These activities encourage students to move from being passive consumers of technology to becoming active creators, builders, and problem-solvers.
Daily Care & Outdoor Play
A healthy mind requires a healthy body. We provide nutritious snacks and dinner daily, ensuring students are well-fed and energized. We also prioritize daily outdoor play (weather permitting) to promote physical fitness and social interaction.
