Olive is excited to parter with the Cal State University system to offer the CSU Summer Algebra Institute, a 5 week in-person math enrichment program for rising 8th-12th grade students. Participants will learn skills and techniques to improve their knowledge of mathematics and quantitative reasoning.

One primary goal of the program is to positively improve college readiness, particularly in mathematics and quantitative reasoning ability. Credentialed math instructors will teach the course content with EdReady curriculum, an adaptive online application for math readiness that designs a personalized learning path to fill students' knowledge gaps. In addition, students will participate in team learning activities, STEAM projects, "college knowledge" workshops and in-person CSU campus tours.

What to Expect
The SAI curriculum is designed to enable students to excel in high school Math coursework, plan for college entry, and to discover STEAM-related career paths. It also features live math instruction, STEAM activities, as well as daily mindfulness exercises.

Math Instruction
The algebra curriculum is built around a combination of live instruction, online practice, and cultural exercises and activities

STEAM Activities
In addition to the math curriculum, students will take part in weekly STEAM activities and experiments meant to spark curiosity and passion for future career paths

Mindfulness
Research-based math strategies is combined with brain-baed minfulness techniques to create an environment of creativiy, empowerment, and perserverance in problem solving
