Olive Children envisions the establishment of a robust, sustainable STEM-based and Leadership program that specifically serves the academic and extracurricular needs of socioeconomically disadvantaged families in Hayward California communities. Our mission is to help middle school students transition from 8th grade to 9th grade academically, socially, and emotionally prepared to manage their high school classes.
Children who participate in positive activities over the summer months have greater self-esteem, achieve higher grades, and feel a stronger sense of community. We urge you to be a Camp Sponsor and support our summer camp programs
for children in grades 6– 8.
STEM Initiative + Leadership is a 6-week summer day camp program beginning June 27 and ending August 5. Campers days will be filled with activities ranging from outdoor sports/games, Math and Reading, Engineering Everywhere, Computer Coding, Leadership, and STEM Speakers from the field, field trips to Lawrence Hall of Science, Exploratorium, California Academy of Science, and much more!!
¨ SPONSOR A CAMPER: $2,400.00 (6-week); $1,700 (4-week); $900 (2-week)
For $900 your generous sponsorship will send a camper for the 2-week Summer Program! Your support will be given to a local child who ordinarily would not attend due to financial constraints.
¨ SPONSOR CAMP MATERIALS: $300 and Beyond
For $300 and beyond, your generous sponsorship will provide campers with materials for Hands-on Engineering Activities, arts, crafts, special projects, sport equipment, and special events like Ice Cream socials, Movie and Popcorn Party,..
¨ SPONSOR FIELD TRIPS: $300.00
For $300.00, your generous sponsorship will send a teenager to 3 Field Trips, such as, Lawrence Hall of Science in Berkeley, Exploratorium in San Francisco, and California Academy of Science in San Francisco. Your support will be given to a local teenager who ordinarily would not attend due to financial constraints.
¨ SPONSOR A STAFFER: $50.00
For $50.00, your generous sponsorship will provide one Camp Leader with three staff t-shirts! These t-shirts are mandatory for the safety and security of our campers so the children can immediately identify their assigned Leader by their brightly colored, and “staff” labeled tee’s.
